Quality Care Made Accessible

Sliding Scale Psychotherapy

At Shine, we believe in accessible psychotherapy. If you would like to begin psychotherapy treatment and are experiencing financial barriers to accessing services, or you do not have access to coverage through their workplace, this option is for you. Our interns are supervised by Tesia Bryski, RP, and Alyssa Malizia, RP, and are diligently trained to offer high-quality psychotherapy treatment.

Mental health care should not be a luxury service.

From Emily:

I strive to create therapeutic spaces that are non-judgemental, empowering, and collaborative, allowing you to bring your whole self to session. I prioritize creating genuine human relationships with my clients. Your story, and all its parts, are welcome here. With an integrative and flexible approach to therapy, some modalities that resonate with me include Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions. I am interested in working with clients 18+ regarding burnout, relationship concerns (romantic, friendships, and family), life transitions and recalibration after loss, trauma, neurodivergence, and women's health issues. We are all humans doing life for the first time, and I am honoured to witness all of your humanity as I walk alongside your healing journey.

Cassie Connor (she, her)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), C-IYAT

MACP Candidate, Yorkville University

Cassie creates a supportive therapeutic environment with a trauma-informed and compassion-focused approach to therapy. Sessions are catered to your needs and preferences. As a certified yoga therapist, Cassie integrates embodied awareness, meditation, guided rest and yogic philosophy to support your holistic wellbeing.

From Cassie:

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself and your body? If so, perhaps this is making relationships, work, and your daily experience complicated and challenging. There are so many reasons that we can find ourselves in this disconnect, including trauma, grief, and illness. Often, the culture we live in requires us to disconnect from our own needs and knowing. Luckily, there are many doorways back to this inner connection that we can explore together.

Ancient yogic knowledge was originally intended to liberate us from suffering. Combined with emerging modern research about the brain, nervous system, and sociocultural influences, we have many tools and resources to integrate into our work together. Depending on your own needs and preferences, we can draw from psychodynamic, compassion-focused, expressive, polyvagal and somatic approaches.

I been working with survivors of sexual violence, child abuse and other traumatic experiences as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist since 2018. I have found that the wide variety of yoga teachings and practices, when delivered with a focus on agency and choice, can support people in building a foundation of embodied safety. From this foundation, connection to self and others becomes more available, inspiring confidence, energy, and creativity.
