Quality Care Made Accessible

Sliding Scale Psychotherapy

At Shine, we believe in accessible psychotherapy. If you would like to begin psychotherapy treatment and are experiencing financial barriers to accessing services, or you do not have access to coverage through their workplace, this option is for you. Our interns are supervised by Tesia Bryski, RP, and Alyssa Malizia, RP, and are diligently trained to offer high-quality psychotherapy treatment.

Mental health care should not be a luxury service.

Elora Wales (she, her)

Elora Headshot.HEIC

Elora encourages her clients to come as they are, as she brings a warm and non-judgemental approach to her sessions. She takes a collaborative approach to therapy, borrowing techniques from person-centred, cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, and internal family systems therapy. Her goal is to support her clients in recognizing and identifying with their strengths as they navigate life’s difficult emotions and experiences.

From Elora:

In my practice, I focus primarily on supporting individuals aged 16 and older, as they navigate a broad range of challenges related to anxiety, perfectionism, stress, low mood, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships. Through my person-centred approach to therapy, I ensure to adapt sessions based on the needs, priorities, and pace of my client. Because exploring difficult topics with a therapist is both brave and vulnerable, it is my priority to build strong and trusting relationships with clients, so they feel comfortable enough to show up as their most authentic selves.

Although I work primarily from a person-centred approach to therapy, I continue to learn and pull from other therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, and internal family systems therapy to create a blended approach that suits the unique needs and strengths of my clients.

It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they build resilience, break cycles, and achieve their goals one day at a time.

Cosette Charbonneau (she, her)

M.Ed. Candidate, University of Ottawa

Finding a safe space to open up can feel overwhelming. Cosette's goal is to break the stigma around mental health and make therapy a genuine, natural space for you to express yourself. She will meet you where you're at, without judgment, and welcomes humour, random thoughts, and difficult moments alike.

From Cosette:

Hello! I welcome collaborative work with my clients to co-create the therapeutic experience together, every step of the way. I will work collaboratively with you to set goals, address your symptoms, and develop self-awareness and self-regulation throughout our therapy together. I draw from approaches that include mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaivoural Therapy, among others.

I am especially interested in working with youth and adults navigating challenges with self-exploration and personal identity, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD. I welcome the surfacing of all experiences in the present moment with curiosity and openness. My approach includes kindness, non-judgemental, and infused with humour and playfulness.
